A/B Testing: What We Learned From 2021

We ran 100s of landing page A/B tests in 2021. Here’s what we learned and what you can do to improve your conversion rates in 2022:

  • Optimize above-the-fold content. Everything below has far less impact on conversion rates.

  • If you’re using a form, the shorter, the better. If you need lots of info, use a multi-step form.

  • Simplify your language. Aim for a 5th-grade reading level.

  • Be direct. Focus on your best selling point and remove the fluff.

  • Use statistics whenever possible. Quantify the benefits of your product or service.

  • Highlight or bold important information. Don’t let it get lost on the page.

  • Social proof is your friend. Share your wins and let people know why you’re the best.

  • Be clear on who you’re targeting. Speak to that audience and let them connect with your brand.

P.S. We just launched a conversion rate optimization webinar that focuses on exactly this. Here’s the link if you want to register!

40% of Small Businesses Are Unsatisfied With Their Social Media Marketing

According to a recent study, 54% of small businesses consider social media to be very important in the success of their business. However, 40% of respondents noted that their current social media strategy is only somewhat effective.

Here are three quick tips to help improve the success of your social media marketing:

  • Be consistent. Post often and regularly. Any sort of inconsistency in your posting schedule will diminish your account's momentum and engagement amongst followers.

  • Post across multiple platforms, and utilize cross-platform promotion and selling to push followers from one platform to another.

  • Make sure your content is engaging. Video often performs best. Behind-the-scenes content, how-tos, before and afters, walkthroughs, employee interactions and client interactions are all great options for quick and easy video opportunities.
