At any given time, we are running 10s of AB tests on our higher ed landing pages and ads. Here are some interesting findings from our Q1 AB tests:
Optimize above-the-fold content. Everything below has far less impact on conversion rates.
If you’re using a form to gather student information, the shorter, the better. If you need lots of info, use a multi-step form.
Simplify your language. Aim for a 5th-grade reading level.
Be direct. Focus on your school’s best selling point and remove the fluff.
Use statistics whenever possible. Quantify the benefits of your program and institution.
Highlight or bold important information. Don’t let it get lost on the page.
Social proof is your friend. Share your wins and let people know why you’re the best.
Be clear on who you’re targeting. Speak to that audience and let them connect with your school’s identity.
P.S. We just launched a conversion rate optimization webinar that focuses on exactly this. Here’s the link if you want to register!

There are many digital marketing trends and tactics higher education marketers need to look out for in 2022. Here is a roundup of 3 strategies you need to consider implementing:
Incorporate Short-Form Video: Many schools are experiencing a decline in campus visit requests. To combat this, use video to answer the school’s most searched queries, provide mini-tours of facilities, and give campus tours.
Embrace YouTube for Content Marketing:27% of prospective teen students said YouTube videos influence their enrollment decisions. You can create "day in a life" videos to provide some unique insights or motion graphics that highlight the value your school brings.
Prioritize Career Outcomes: Students and parents want to be reassured of the tangible value of earning an education. Ensure that the career, financial and academic outcomes are emphasized on your website.
