At any given time, we are running 10s of AB tests on our higher ed landing pages and ads. Here are some interesting findings from our Q1 AB tests:

  • Optimize above-the-fold content. Everything below has far less impact on conversion rates.

  • If you’re using a form to gather student information, the shorter, the better. If you need lots of info, use a multi-step form.

  • Simplify your language. Aim for a 5th-grade reading level.

  • Be direct. Focus on your school’s best selling point and remove the fluff.

  • Use statistics whenever possible. Quantify the benefits of your program and institution.

  • Highlight or bold important information. Don’t let it get lost on the page.

  • Social proof is your friend. Share your wins and let people know why you’re the best.

  • Be clear on who you’re targeting. Speak to that audience and let them connect with your school’s identity.
